Photographer's Note

An old film shot from my 2008 trip to Canada. Taken in Victoria Harbour. Victoria is the capital of British Columbia and located on the south west tip of Vancouver Island. Apologies for the lower quality than usual. Digital is superior in low light conditions & nocturnal shots, imho. I've used Fuji 100 ISO film.

Hello Chris,
Amazing sunset from this marina in Viktoria, taken with perfect pov and sharpness. Very good layout and nice warm colors. But the reflections at the bottom part is just dreamy.

Hello Chris, I can稚 believe that you have kept this one unseen for so long!
It certainly has the Wow factor for me.
A beautiful sunset, the colours are wonderful.
I like the vertical presentation. Excellent sharpness. I can see nothing wrong with the quality.

Hi Chris.

No worries, low light equals bright mind... Photographs that were taken in the "old days" are still shinning across the world in many exhibition art galleries. This one is especially close to my visual senses for, I just visited the capital city of BC a week ago. Sunsets at the water level usually bring amazing results in natural light and reflection. Tfs!!!

Wonderful sunset shot, superb colours and love the gentle ripples on the water, and almost painterly feel to that reflection. The boats and masts draw attention never let loose and I feel the peace and serenity just by looking at this glorious nature beauty. Excellent shot and tfs.

Hello Chris,
I love the peaceful mood of this marina at sunset. The warm colours of the sky make a great contrast with the darker foreground. The reflections are also wonderful in the small ripples of the water.

Hello Chris,
Although the quality is not totally up to digital standard it's not a bad scan. There is some noise, but the colours are good and the pleasant atmosphere was not lost on the film.

Hello Chris,
Sailing yachts are the most beautiful objects for a successful photo with reflections. If there is also such a spectacular sunset in the background then it is completely perfect.
The red flowers in the foreground also give the photo a romantic atmosphere.

You are to be applauded for this fine film shot and successful scan.
Yes, we know film does not have quite the same quality as digital but this is a very successful photogtaph! love how you have captured the approaching sunset, gilding the sea and darkening the tops of the hills in a remarkable way.
The boats and their reflections are attractive, focal images, paralleled by the almost silhouetted f/g plants.

Hello Chris, thanks for your critiques. Nice view displaying that marina in Vancouver where sailing boats are moored. The sunset in the bg takes orange hues. Good vertical framing.
