Photographer's Note

The soil conditions in our area are extremely dry this fall, so anytime the soil is disturbed, it is very very dusty. I took this image a few days ago in the hazelnut orchard where I am helping a friend with his harvest. The harvester uses very high volume air generated by large fans to separate the nuts from the trash. So as seen here, the sun was shining down through the clouds of dust hovering in the nut orchard - a rather compelling photographic opportunity wouldn't you say? I was on tractor duty so had no time to choose a point of view - just shot a few images and was on my way.
