Photographer's Note

So, i'll just say it - I have Covid, I tested positive 2 days ago. This totally sucks, and I have had three vaccinations, but there are so many variants its hard to cover them all.

I have been unable to sleep, I'm sweating so much my bedsheets are soaking wet, I have a headache constantly, I have pain in my chest/lungs/ribs - like someone is squeezing my chest like a lemon, diarrhea, coughing, feeling tired and weak...sigh...its not easy.

Pretty sure I got the virus at work, from a patient who was covid positive. But what can you do? I have to stay away from my 3 y/o son now for 5 days, and my wife has to be with him all the time, so I feel guilt about that too.

I took this photo with my drone, and I remember feeling a soar throat off and on during the day...i guess that was the start of it. Its of my favorite location downtown, with Science World in the lower fg, and BC Place Stadium in bg where they hold concerts and major sporting events.

Hello Craig,
A great view of Vancouver with that large glass sphere of Science World and the stadium as the most eye-catching landmarks in the photo. The blue water is nicely dotted with several different white boats. Fantastic clarity and sunlight as well. Get well soon!

It's a wonderful cityscape presented in a good composition.
The many white boats nicely fill the central part of the picture.
But above all, I wish you a smooth and speedy recovery.
I hope it is possible to keep some distance from your son and wife for a few days.

It sounds like you got hit hard. :-( I really hope you'll be well very soon. About your lovely photo, I like the balance between Science World in the foreground, and the stadium on the other side of the water. I personally like all the skyscrapers and the boats dotting the water, too. Get well soon!!

Seeing the title of the photo I started to look for you down there somewhere. Then I read the note. I'm really sorry to hear you're ill, so I can only wish you a speedy recovery. But even with Covid coming on you still managed another great photo with the glass bulb of the Science World as a very strong anchor in the foreground. I also love the view across the dark water studded with white boats.

Hi Craig,I am very sorry for what is happening to you, luckily you are vaccinated and should not take big risks. Also in Italy there is a very high return of infections, a positive rate of 25% and new increases in hospitalizations. Go through this quarantine peacefully, and thank you for this fantastic new view of your city that needs no comments but speaks for itself! Luciano.

Hi Craig.
Sorry about the COVID - as you work in a hospital you've done well to avoid it this long. We went to visit our daughter on the weekend and whilst there she and one of her sons tested positive - we escaped and so far negative (we've had 4 vaccinations - free to over 65s).
And the photo - another great drone photo over Vancouver featuring lots of interesting structures.

Hello Craig, so sorry to learn that you have COVID, what a nuisance!

This shot is a great advertisement for buying a drone!
The depth of field is incredible, we can see for miles and miles. You chose a beautiful day, the colours are lovely.
The different styles of architecture is very interesting.

I am sorry to hear about your health problem. I sincerely hope that you will soon recover. Maybe the fact that you are vaccinated will make the disease less pronounced than it would be otherwise?
It seems just before you went down your drone went up.
Nice circular structure in the "freground" Fantastic panoramic view over the city.

Covid seems to affect some people a lot worse than others. Thankfully the vaccinations have given you a milder version of what you would have had without any vaccinations at all. I am paying close attention to the epidemiologists, virologists and senior health professionals and listening less or not at all to to politicians and conspiracy theorists and anti vaxxers. Fantastic shot of Vancouver, btw. Nice repetition of the boats. Tfs!
