Photographer's Note
Two friends out enjoying some early morning fishing, on Yellow Lake, near Penticton. Fishing is a popular activity in this area. This is lake fishing, where you cruise very slowly around in a small boat, dragging your line. River fishing involves standing on the shore and throwing your line out into the water, which is called casting. Ocean fishing would take a much bigger boat (and much bigger waves!). A friend of mine jokes that hunters are loud crazy, and fishermen are quiet crazy, which makes it easier for other people to be around them.

Hi Alvin
BRILLIANT, all the green colour pallet.
Technically fine and without a point to "claim".
Well seen

Beautiful shot that allows the water to show more than you'd ever get from the "real" subject, thanks to a great use of reflection.

I love the composition. I am told that it is a typically Canadian perspective to include far more ground than sky. So perhaps this is an uberCanadian photo! I love the red against so much green, especially the darker bits. The reflection and sense of space are just wonderful.

Very cool, Alvin! The light on the boat is great. But the wonderful reflection, and the imbalance of it really takes this to the level of stunning. Great idea and great execution. Well done, man!

Perfect framing placing the red (red!) boat a little bit aside and exploring all the green luxious reflections, instead of raising the camera to get the forest involved in the picture. Your title just demonstrates exactly your intentions when your triggered the release.

Hello Alvin.
Wow.
The reflections, as you know, are really well handled. Using the top third to place the boat and shoreline was a very original and creative idea. The depth of the evergreen reflections is amazing. Incredible shot Alvin.

Chris.

Hi Alvin,
Great idea this shot absolutely green with this red-white point. Nice colors contrast. I like this little-little boat in this vaste landscape, and great idea too give almost all the frame to the reflection. The autumn colors begin and the nature becomes a great spectacle. Very well seen! Thanks.
Angel.

Beautiful photo, Alvin, the lush greenery of the seasonal colors is well amplified by the reflections on the lake, and even at quite a distance we seem to be able to tell the marvel of the two people in the single boat traversing the splendid surroundings. Framing-wise I did a similar thing at Moraine Lake last year. Nice photo, greetings from Austria.

Serwus Alvin !
Grand photography. Minimum elements for an outstanding result. Just the variety of greens and exceptional light. And the fishermen, naturally. Creative and remarkable.
Best wishes,

Hello Alvin! Very creative composition! Usually we expect the brighter part of the frame to be the upper half but here you have reversed it here for good effect. Also, you cleverly show us the forest above the fishermen but only in the reflection. Nice idea!
The colors are all very nice and the addition of the boat really adds that human touch.
Nice work!

Excellent composition Alvin. I love the water details in the lower section of the frame and the darker shades in the upper frame. A very nice effect in this frame. The hint of red on the side of the boat really finishes off this photo. Excellent results and a pleasure to view!

Hi, Alvin. i like how you've used the reflections on the water surface to show us the surrounding landscape. I find the blurred vision excellent here. The boat is very well placed in the picture and the colours are very relaxing.

This is another beauty in your gallery (that has many!). A symphony of greens. Light-green, dark-green, deep-green, yellow-green... Excellent idea of framing, where you gave a place of choice to the reflexions, that gives a bit the feeling of a painting. And the fishermen, quiet in all this greenery.
A pleasure for the eyes. Especially at the time of the year where there is almost no more leaves in the trees...

Hi Alvin - what a sensational symphony in green, brilliant crop, leaving the boat the only part under direct sunlight, thus drawing more attention to it than its diminutive size would otherwise get.

I've just realized I missed
this fantastic image - when I
was absent from TE, last autumn.
This showing us lush greens as a
reflection rather than direct
shot - this is very clever as is
the composition that reminds me
of some earlier painters...

The reflection is great and the frame really inspired. The red spot/boat floating over that psychedelic world is striking. You composed that very very well. Simply excellent.
