Photographer's Note

Although I do support all things Canadian- I have to say that I am in no way connected to Mission Hills family Winery or their new 'easy drinking' wine from their Wild Horse Canyon Vineyards.

I'm not much of a wine drinker. I probably could not tell the difference between a $13(CAD) bottle of wine (Which Wild Horse Canyon retails for) vs. a $300 bottle. However I could tell you a few things about vodka... ;-)

I happened to be browsing around Lonsdale Quay in North Vancouver when I happened to spot this display.

I quite liked the horse painted on the window against the backdrop of the white and red wines.

Go ahead, crack open a bottle.

Hi Dan,
I think the LCB may be contacting you to use this in their advertising - or Mission Hill. A well chosen exposure level with superb clarity and tight cropping for high impact. We are surrounded by snow here. Take care.

Hi Dan. I do believe this is the first picture I've ever seen on TE of alcohol! I don't see any box wine which is a good sign. I guess you shot this without a flash? You did a good job of including the large horsey sign thing. tfs Dan.

Hello Dan -

Nicely done! I do like your composition and the red vs white counter play. I also think that the dividing line between red/white being placed on the thirds was a very good compositional decision. The overlay of the logo on top of the product is also very good. Excellent exposure, good choice of DOF but I think it could have been an f/4 since the quality of the bottle labels is just slightly out of focus, I am sure the glass case grabbed the auto focus. Well done!

Well Dan I do like this photo even though it took me a while to getting around to adding comment to it. The painted horse on the window really adds interest to the frame, and reinforces the company logo to the passing traffic on the street. I think the logo makes your photo interesting..that is for sure. Good details clearly seen here Dan. Good work!
