Photographer's Note
A view across Paris towards Sacre Coeur, from the roof terrace of the Musee d'Orsay.
The Musee d'Orsay is situated on the Left Bank of the Seine, a museum housed in the former Gare d'Orsay, a Beaux Arts railway station built between 1898 and 1900.
The strange machine standing vertically is situated in the Jarden de Tuileries. (I have no idea what these machines are called!) It actually gave people some kind of experience, as they sat in pods at each end and the device rotated! So they could be very high up in the air or at ground level.
On the hill is the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Paris, that we know as Sacre Coeur; a Roman Catholic church and minor basilica. The 2nd most visited monument in Paris.
Two more Parisian views in the workshop.
Thank for your visit.

Hello Jean
You must have quite a zoom there to bring the Sacre Coeur that close from the Musee d'Orsay! Nice cloudscape and light, but I can't help you to identify the craney thing!

Hello Jean,
This is quite a panorama, showing more of the city on each side of the Sacr-Coeur than I am used to seeing. You also have a nice foreground with the trees and a row of very French buildings. Maybe the strange yellow and white mast is a sculpture, on loan from one of the city's museums? ;-) Nice photos in the WS too, but this is the most interesting and dynamic composition.
Best regards,
Gert

Bonjour Jean,
spectacular view of the Monmartre from the famous museum.
I would prefer it without the carousel or whatever it is called but I suppose it also adds a unique touch to your composition, something what nobody else probably will have on a photo from this spot.
Very well done,
M

Hello Jean,
A fantastic view of Paris with the famous Sacre Coeur sitting on top of its hill in the distance. The typical Paris houses make a great foreground as well. Very nice and bright sunlight too.

PS - I believe that machine is called 'the Booster', I was once foolish enough to take a ride in the one at Brighton Pier. But I could also once see one from my kitchen window: https://www.trekearth.com/gallery/Europe/Netherlands/South/Noord-Holland//photo1529928.htm

Hello Jean,
You have been able to capture a remarkable depth of field in this photograph! I like the whole range of buildings that you have been able to include, rising to a peak with the Sacre Coeur.
That strange contraption wasn't there when we were in Paris so I have no idea what it is!
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Jean
That's a very fine panoramic shot, phenomenal detail and some lovely light & colours. Love how the fresh green foreground leads in towards the iconic Basilica and the contrast to light blus sky looks great. Excellent capture

Hello Jean, beautiful view of the Montmartre hill with the Sacre Coeur Church. This machine standing vertically is indeed quite strange. Lovely presentation. Excellent composition and colours.

Hello Jean
I like the flattened perspective from the zoom lens. The bg white Sacred Heart cathedral provides a good focal point. The zipper / Ferris wheel like contraption seems to be trying hard to compete. Tfs!

Hi Jean
Sacre Coeur is visible from many vantage points - I've posted a photo of it from on top of the Pompidou Centre. This is a good distant view over the roof tops.
cheers

Hi Jean.
These views of Paris are beautiful, especially the hill of Montmatre with the Sacre Coeur at the top is a beauty, it hurts that yellow and white contraption that we see to the right of the basilica, every time we find more junk in the cities to the time to take photos.
Wonderful colors, soft tones, excellent sharpness and splendid light.
Very well done. I like very much.
You have a good day.
Very best regards.
Luis.

Hello Jean,
Beautiful panorama from Paris with Sacre Coeur as a main point of the photo. I have read all the comments below the picture there is no clear explanation regarding this mast in the foreground. Maybe there will be someone from Paris on TE who will know what it is.
Great picture as well as the quality.
Best regards,
Zbigniew
