Photographer's Note
it has already been established that I was the first to find the El Dorado, the legendary place of precious stones and gold coins. I was there at sunrise, I saw it first (as attested in this shot), so it's all mine. at least this particular version of El Dorado - Cerro Leja and corner of Laguna Miscanti about 40km from the town of Socaire.

The colors are splendid

That's such a wonderful picture!
It has magnificent colors, a terrific brightness, with very well controlled lights, a sense of vastness, lots of interesting and truly beautiful shapes! Very well chosen pov and fantastic composition - well seen, well thought and well done! I like it very much! Highlights: the road on the left bottom corner of the image and the dark mountains in the background! But everything else's perfect1

Bonjour Kristine,
Looking to this wide landscape, I feel a bit closed inside in the frame too small. I dream for this view of a wide panorama in 16:9
Very ggod composition in triangle with the road, the lake and the high volcano in background.

Kristine ;))) You know that I work!!! One day they kick me out, I wouldn't be surprised, but maybe I would show them this picture ... and they would understand. Wonderful the color of the little street winding up, the lake on the side, the clouds gently touching the volcano, what a world, simply breathtaking ... Back to work ... Happy day in N.Y. ... maybe day-dreaming about El Dorado ... Barbara.

I absolutely love this shot, the intensity of the earth, the lake and the sky, I love how the clouds is covering the mountain like a dawn blanket to keep it nice and warm, yet is leave enough visibility for us to really enjoy this mountain. Hi Kristine,
Wow, this is really beautiful. Firstly I like the little dirt road on the side there bringing us into the shot, and then it's those wonderful triangle segments of different shades of colour...from light brown to orange to deep blue to orange to purplychoclaty brown to light blue...all flowing into one another and to end it all off you have that special white cloud on the mountain. Perfect clarity and depth. Nice!
It looks like you had an amazing trip through Chile if I look at your images.

Well it surely is "dorado" (golden) and it's a sight that very few places in the world can offer. Your photo is superb, I can't imagine a better composition for this mount, plane and lake. In one glimpse you see everything so armoniously disposed. And the contrast between the golden ground and sky is stunning. Mucho gusto.

Ha, ha, Kristine, this gold is more impressive than the tiny amounts that make jewellery, and ... quite easy to share!!
This is a stunning shot!
The horizontal layers of colour, the excellent composition, the high relief in the b/g and the snowlike clouds, all combine to make this a quite outstanding shot.
Kind regards,

Hi, Kristine -
Ok, this is fabulous. You used polarizing to bring out the sky, but not so much that it looks polarized; it looks like a sky at 4000 m. The positioning of the road and the water are also excellent. (The touch of cloud on the mountain is nice, too, but not your doing. :-) )
What really gets me, though, is the combined sharpness and sense of smoothness.
I see that Neyvan thinks you have a couple of overdone highlights in the road. I don't see it that way, but I suppose a bit of brushwork in a couple of spots there wouldn't hurt. Or not; I like it as it is.
Best,
Dan

You got to a level that is very much the highest that can be achieved. Take this shot as an example: the composition is superb, the light is fantastic and demosntrates that you have the patience to get your shots when the light is right, the PP is simply perfect.

hello Kristine
I am guilt of missing from your gallery for quite a while and I am very glad it is this superb landscape shot that draws me back again. Honestly speaking I have not done a shot like this with wide view showing the mountain and the brown color tone yet. Perhaps I can never find this landscape in Malaysia; although recently been to Cambodia, neither that country can offer this to me. So I am duly impressed with this work from you and shall I say it deserves my full praise.
I hope I am wrong. Is it due to sharping? The path leading up is enhanced with the shadow as if it is cut out. The little blue lake in this composition is simply perfected.
Excellent in true sense of the word.
