Chicago & Michigan

This photo has been waiting so long and so patiently in my folder with possible TE-uploads, it痴 time to reward its patience and actually post it. I took it during our first visit to Chicago back in 2015. It is a view of the Lake Michigan shoreline to the north of the city centre, as seen from John Hancock Center. Oak Street Beach and further away Lincoln Park can be seen here with North Lake Shore Drive in the middle.

this view can be misleading, we can imagine a view of Miami seashore facing sea and beaches. but of course the cold waters aren't so mild as in the miami beaches. very beautiful view of the town.

Hej Lars,
Det h舐 hade jag kunnat t舅ka mig var en vy fr蚣 Kalifornien, eller kanske Miami som Jorge fesl蚌. Det ser verkligen inte ut som en storstad mitt inne i landet, men de "Stora sjrna" 舐 ju verkligen stora. John Hancock Center bjuder p� en fantastisk utsikt, och det var verkligen ett klart v臈er. Bara v舁digt l蚣gt borta 舐 det lite disigt. En imponerande utsikt i en v舁tagen bild. F dig kanske ocks� liten trt f 蚌ets (och fjol蚌ets) uteblivna resa.

Wow Lars, what a view, you are so high, I thought that you must be in a helicopter or plane!
The cars on the road are smaller than a pinhead, and yet we can still recognise them for what they are.
Amazing sharp quality.
I can稚 believe that this has been tucked away for so long.

The length of the shoreline is creating depth. The point of view is showing the details of the highrise buildings. The light is making the colors to stand out. Have a nice day.

Hi Lars,

Quite a vertiginous view from this building. You chose a good view looking along the shore, with the beaches disappearing into the hazy distance. From this height Chicago looks like a pleasant green city, but I'm sure it's not all like these lakeside areas.

Hello Lars,
When I see the name Chicago, I hear the song playing ( in my brain ).......'All that JazzZZZZZ' :-)
Instead.....this picture gives me the 'razzle-dazzle' of Chicago's skylines along the shoreline and the long curvy road with the smooth 'traffic-jams'.
Like all big cities in US, it's always a slice of green oasis , the Lincoln Park as you mentioned. Matter of fact, as a big city....it's a very green city. Surprisingly :-)
The beaches are not bad at all. I particularly like the shape of the beach near the park. And what a BIG Lake too!!! So calm and the water kind of 'milky blue'.

Ha! Ha! Lars, patience is a virtue!
This is an exceptionally good photograph.
We don't often get the opportunity to look down on skyscrapers but, we can here, and we can clearly see the link between the city and the lake.
The photograph is perfectly clear with some amazing details.

this is a spectacular view from Chicago.
It is amazing to realize that you are even higher than those high risers below.

Very nice perspective, interesting effect. I like the charming little beach in the foreground which adds some nice contrast with the concrete jungle.

A lovely urban capture and it does give the vertigo and enormous height effect. There's so much detail to absorb from bottom to infinity and i feel that the blue water/sky makes you engage with the picture better. Excellent capture

Hallo Lars,
E駭 van de meest verbluffende panorama's van Chicago, neem ik aan.
Je bevond je duidelijk nog heel wat hoger dan al die andere torengebouwen. Schitterend zicht op het strand rechts.
De hoogbouw in Chicago lijkt voornamelijk geconcentreerd langs de oever van het Michigan Meer dat hier een heel mooie kleur heeft.
Bevond je je buiten op het dak van het John Hancock Center of werd deze foto achter glas genomen?
In ieder geval is de kwaliteit onberispelijk.

This great panoramic view of the city and the lake is superb, this great avenue that runs along the lake is splendid, ideal views of the beach in the foreground, that kind of boardwalk and again what looks like a bathing area.
