Photographer's Note
Chicago, Chicago,
It's a hell of a town. . . .
When hell freezes over, that is.
Chicago River.
Excuse me . . . I mean Chicago Popsicle.
Looking down off the bridge.
Is this getting old?

Hi neighbour! 13:30 in UK, just posted something during my lunch break and there's yours. Great abstract feel coupled with a touch of vertigo. Like the symmetry too. All the best, Roberto

Not something for those afraid of heights, very cool pic:-), I enjoy the graphics, the tilt, the Popsicles. Nice series, I have never experienced such cold...

Hola amigo,
Very unique and artistic shot. very good symmetry between the metal rails and the cirle popscles. Like how the rails guide the eyes to the river. Cool picture.

Is it ice all over there, downstairs? Frozen bubbles?
Very interesting layered structure, and distortion on the waterside, everything is arranged to make the viewer dizzy.
Creative and original photo. I can claim that i've never seen something like this before. Nice pair of shoes, btw.
Cheers,
Deniz

Quite a different and creative shot, Hugh. I like the dizzying effect created by your pov and the texture of the icy water. Very well done.

Don't do it Hugh - you still have everything to live for...
Really inventive use of perspective here, and the ice on the bridge and the river below only makes it better. I like how you divided the frame into two with railings as well.
Using a smaller aperture would have worked well, just to bring the top of the railings and the bottom of your jacket into focus, but this is a great shot nonetheless - very original.

Ben

Hi Hugh,
What a POV!!! Excellent. The result really produces vertigo :)))
Nice colours with an interesting optical effect of curvature in the frozen river... and that footprint without continuity... a mystery... where did it go? :-O
Very creative!

Hi Hugh!
Simple, effective and very smart! I think the Greek saying “to squeeze fat out of a fly” describes pretty well what you did here. Like it a lot.
Cheers
