Photographer's Note

The iconic NYC cab as we know it from TV and film is being phased out for hybrid cabs. I believe it is to take 3 years? Calling all photographers get to NYC before they go for those iconic shots. The new style is not appealing at all. This shot was taken outside the famous Bill's Burgers in Meat Packing district whilst hunting out the old cab styles.

Hi Saxon,
what a tragedy that these iconic yellow cabs are being phased out.
anyhow back to your shot, good sense of movement, but with enough detail left to be able to make out that it is a yellow cab. i feel that if the cropping was about half way up the cab, to the bottom of the window and some more background detail could have improved the shot some more.

there are many hybrid cabs already, and there's no way you can tell the difference until you actually sit in the car - same colour, same distinctive signs. why would you claim the "iconic shots" will no longer be possible?
just curious.
