Graffitree
An interesting place for ambitious street artists to make name is the First Street Green Art Park, which is located between Houston Street, First Street and First Avenue in the Lower East Side of Manhattan.
Upcoming artists and designers can place murals in this open art park.
You can request an application for a temporary place to paint at:

The art keeps being renewed and updated, so probably the murals of this presentation have been replaced by new ones.
Three photos that give a good impression of the high quality of the graffiti.
■ Picture 1: ◄ Graffitree ►
Even tree trunks can inspire future artists to apply their art.
■ Picture 2: ◄ Dandelions ►
A somewhat unexpected name for this martial mural from K-NOR, an artist & designer based in Brooklyn, NYC. Perhaps a reference to the aggressive spread of the dandelion seeds.
■ Picture 3: ◄ Have A Nice Day ►
The mural on the right, "Have A Nice Day" is from Vanessa Powers (@ va.nessapowers).
The wall painting on the left is from the autodidact Barb Bonchek who painted her "Dizzy Art" mural completely free hand
Unfortunately, I could not find information about the powerful coloured expression in the middle.

Hello Rob,
I can't see if the colours on the tree are supposed to depict anything, or if they are just an abstract painting, but the texture and colours of the tree contribute to a composition that possibly is more interesting than the artist intended. The slightly blurred view of a regular painting in the background adds a dimension to the tree art. The ordinary wall paintings in the WS are of various quality, just like on every wall that is being used for graffiti. The setting in the park makes them different.
Best wishes,
Gert

Hallo Rob,

Hi Rob,
It is a suprising artwork on a tree, I am wondering if it could damage the tree. The point of view is showing the details of the artwork. The light is enhancing the colours. Have a nice day.

Hello Rob,
Great eye to notice the artwork on this tree. It was a creative choice for the main photo. I like the blurred bits of art in the background, making the tree art pop out even more. Great colors, too.

Hi Rob,it's graffiti time from N.Y. in your gallery today, and they are another time very curious and original. Correct choice for the main post,in effect it's the most original and curious. I stille like the WS too, flowers on the cannon is very well done, while the famous yellow face of "have a nice day" is painted in a lovely way, well done! Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

Hello Rob,
A very mixed bag of graffiti or street art.
Your main shot reminds me very much of the effects of wool work, when artists transform features with colourful wools. The textural details of this are very strong, reminding me of the plane trees in London.
I particularly like the last contribution. There is such variety of styles and I just love how the paintings seem like washing, hanging out in the dappled sunlight.
There is so much to see in N.Y. You need many weeks there to fully appreciate it!
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Rob,
Very good observed and captured. I've seen many graffitison walls but this is the first one I see on a tree.
The phantasy of a real artist does not have any limits.
Good sharpness and perfect graphicael effect.
Many interesting and usefull notes.

Hello Rob, I like Workshop pictures much more. Nicely shown the texture of the tree but I do not see the art in these just colour patches. I like Dandelions very much, with the guy sitting under the impressive mural.
Kind regards MAlgo

Hello Rob, such a variety of styles!
I like your choice for your main post; lovely texture, light and shade, a rainbow of colours and a muted/blurred background, excellent.
The extra shots are perfectly sharp.

Hi Rob
I think you have the first ever posted photo of graffiti on a tree trunk on TE! hahaha, I can honestly say I've never seen this before. and why not right? something different for sure, but the WS photos help out a lot, to bring it all together, and helpful to see them from a further back pov. Wish I had seen these in NY. good photos all around. cheers

Lol at the funny title! Good textural detail with excellent sharpness, color and saturation. I like the tight framing and shallow dof. Tfs!

Hallo Rob,
Vele groeten, Paul
