Photographer's Note
View from the observation deck of the Rockefeller Center.
I took this at the same time as this shot that I posted a while ago.
I'm usually too lazy to carry two cameras around at once, but when I do, I sometimes like to shoot the same things on both colour and black and white film. This time I think I prefer the colour version.

Very beautiful composition!
I like also the B&W and the sense of dpeth, given by POV!

hello,
I like the B&W better, but why did you cut the top of the empire state building?
Have a great day!

Here's to being on the tops of buildings in winter in great cities, Ben. I like the view and the tones. I wish I could see a bit wider view to get the whole handprint in. And, I guess I wonder a bit about cutting off the tip of the ESB antenna. But it's a nice clear shot all the way down to Staten Island. Best, -Hugh

Hmmm, you see, that's strange... about peoples' taste.
Cause I prefer this version, even though the top of one of them 'skyscrapers' is touching the border. I like colours on the other one, don't get me wrong, but
there's too much of a foreground there - unimportant FG.
Wouldn't mind even a wee bit less FG here, but what's
the point of whinging now... overall, I like this much
much better - for the reason I don't associate colours
much with snowy winter, I suppose.
Cheers Ben,
Robi

Hi Ben,
I also like the B&W better, maybe because the background is sharp here. Also I gotta say I don't really see the point in including this foreground here. I understand you wanted to add the 'prints' in the snow but still, it adds up to a strange cluttering effect on the whole scene plus it led you to cut the top of the ESB. An original endeavor anyway.
Yours,
Philippe

excellent view indeed! This one has the advantage of a more symetrical view versus the colour versrion IMO! Both are quite stunning anyhow;-)

I prefer the B/W and the balance between fore and background. Wonder about the fingerprints, etc, not crazy about that. All in all, great shot.

Hello Ben
This has a cinematographic allure to it, only thing missing is a couple of lovers in the foreground.
Great depth, nicely done
Regards
Daniel
