Photographer's Note

I was lucky to visit Rockefeller Center just before COVID numbers started exploding again here in NYC. I have taken photos of the famous Christmas tree every year for decades, and I didn稚 want to miss this year痴 tree. :-)

This season, one side of the ice skating rink is lined with small, wooden chalets, where you can sit for a few minutes and have a bite to eat. In this photo you can see part of the chalet that actually sells the food, together with the Christmas tree behind it.

I hope that despite the ongoing troubles, everyone who celebrates is able to enjoy a beautiful Christmas. Wishing you all happiness and good health. Merry Christmas!

Hello Brenda,
I am split between WS #2 showing the entire tree, and the "sign of the times" about social distancing, and this one. I think the inclusion of the wooden chalet, with its decorations and 'apr鑚 skate', makes a slight difference. The other WS deserves a prize for strangest picture of the day. What on earth were those young ladies doing? You have given us three interesting pictures, and probably your Christmas tree will be the largest shown here this year.

Ciao Brenda,beautiful Christmas scenes from your city before the contagions worsened, and unfortunately even in my country there are bad news and new restrictions, no discos, dances and parties in the square for the New Year. The first photo presents very elegant decorations in an extremely geometric composition, the great classic tree is beautiful and a stroke of luck with the girls who were certainly ready to set up some show. Hello Brenda,
It's a very large Christmas tree and in the WS we can also see it has a very thick trunk.
A huge number of Christmas balls decorate the tree and the roof of the chalet.
The sign on the chalet surprises me with the combination of French and English.

A wonderful photo of the large Christmas tree and its many colours lights. The wooden hut is well included as well with even more golden lights. Rockefeller Center makes a great backdrop!

Hi Brenda,
I have seen so many times the inscription Apres Ski but never Apres Skate. It makes sense of course especially near the famous skating area near the Rockefeller Center.
Fantastic Christmas decorations. People tell me the NYC is a great place to visit before Christmas to enjoy all the decorations.
