Photographer's Note
This is the forth installment of the Holga Americana series. Though this seems more a landscape than traditional americana, I feel it has a place in this series. This is an image from Providence Canyon. Providence Canyon is an extensive series of 250-300 foot (80-100 meter) deep gorges at the southern most end of the Appalachians in southern Georgia. What makes these canyons unique is that they are only 150 years old. They were caused by poor soil management by cotton farmers in the early to mid 19th century. Behold the monument to our own folly and short sitedness.
