Photographer's Note
For those uninterested in auto trivia, consider that this car is more than 50 years old and is about 5,000 miles from where it was built. I have seen it a couple times and photographed it this morning in the even light of a cloudy day. I invite your comments on the range of tones within the monochrome -- I do not think I have been successful in presenting a full range from very black to bright white, but I have tried. I am even more interested in suggestions you may have for PP that would present the full range better.
For the aficionados -- this is the bonnet ornament from a Morris Minor 1000 Traveller Estate from about 1960. How it got to Austin, Texas is unknown to me. It survives in rather poor condition, but I think the ornament and the lines of the hood still present a certain feminine sensuality.

Hey Russ - nice detail on this. I know nothing about the Morris Minor - enlighten me? I suppose I could just check Wikipedia, but where's the fun in that...
As for the monochrome conversion, I do think that you could increase the contrast and bring out more of the black, which might result in a more metallic feel. I also might crop just a bit more from top and left to emphasize the swoop of the ornament.
