Photographer's Note
In David Lean's masterpiece Lawrence of Arabia, Peter O'Toole volunteers to do field map work, his commanding officer,
Mr. Dryden: "Lawrence, only two kinds of creatures get fun in the desert; Bedouins and gods, and you're neither. Take it from me, for ordinary men, it's a burning, fiery furnace."
Lawrence: "No, Dryden, it's going to be fun."
Mr. Dryden: "It is duly recognized that you have a funny sense of fun."
This image was made after a sandstorm 'cleaned' the sand, yet another storm was apporaching from the north/east over the Funeral Mountains.
