Photographer's Note

Crossing the Animas River on High Bridge, made of steel girders and with a heavy wooden deck,it is 190 feet long. Whilst over the river the fireman and engineer alternately open the 'Blowdown' valve to clear sediment that has accumulated on the bottom of the boiler.this shoots a hot white mist from the sides of the locomotive as seen here.

Hi Doreen,
Quite an experience, I'd like to go there myself some day. The camera seems to be shaken, which is no wonder on that rattling ride. But what comes to colors and composition I have nothing to complain about. And timing is perfect to show the steam blow.
