Venice in Vegas

Back to Venic� I mean Las Vegas. I showed the Fremont Street Experience earlier, now it痴 time for the Las Vegas Strip. This is The Venetian Hotel Resort Casino, a Venice-themed five-diamond luxury hotel and casino. The hotel has got 4,049 rooms (prices ranging from $160 to $10,000 per night). Opened in 1999, it features St Mark痴 Campanile, the Rialto Bridge and a gondola ride attraction.

Venice in the desert, hygienically clean and without any weathering. Well captured and cropped, yes. But if you look at the idea behind it, I might throw up...

Hello Lars,

I know there is a lot of distaste expressed about Las Vegas and for me it is the brash colours and the bombardment of flashing lights. I really don't mind this idea. For people who have never been or will never get a chance to visit Venice, this is quite a spectacle especially if you recognise that it isn't the real thing!
You have captured the 'Venice' scene very sharply with excellent water reflections duplicating the scene. The blue sky maks a great backcloth.

Hello Lars,
If I happened to be in Las Vegas and could afford to spend $10,000, I could buy a plane ticket to Venice, Italy. It's probably fun to watch a place like this, then maybe spend some time "shopping & dining", perhaps ending the day listening to "The Beatles" or watching "Madame Tussaud's". But...
It's a good photo, perfectly clear and sharp and well exposed, and it makes me smile in a way. But...

from this lower angle it almost looks like venice. perfect colors and light. few places I visited had so many things to be photographed as LV.

Definitely one crazy place but certainly one of the most fantastic photographic venues as portrayed by your awesome shot. The Venetian in Las Vegas!; the Church Tower and gorgeous waterplay and its shimmering reflection are strong points for me. You've certainly brought the vibrancy and energy of this place. Hello Lars,

I've been to both Las Vegas & Venice and enjoyed both. The thing is with the Las Vegas strip, it's a global theme park with not just Italy, but France, Egypt, New York, England (Excalibur), & the Caribbean (Treasure Island). I wonder if their gondola rides are any cheaper than 80 Euro for 30 minutes? Which was the price in Venice Italy. Tfs!

Hi Lars,

The reflections on the water are assets to the composition. Th point of view is showing the details of bridge, of the toiwer and of the buildings. The light is bringing out the beauty of the colors. I saw a similar view when visiting Venice on March 24, 2018. Have a nice day.

Bonjour Lars,

On pourrait s'y laisser prendre, mais les 駘駑ents de la ville ne sont pas vraiment � la bonne place. Le plan d'eau est d'une puret� irr駱rochable et on ne peut pas vraiment dire la m麥e chose de l'original.

Zo lijkt het toch net echt op een paar billboards en enkele uit de toon vallende gebouwen in de verte. Een duidelijk voorbeeld van Amerika痴 alternatieve waarheid. En het echte Veneti� kan bij het fake-nieuws worden geplaatst.

yup, classic Vegas shot. I've got this one in my gallery as well, its a must :)

I can understand why a lot of europeans don't like Vegas, but if you accept it for what it is its ok. Personally, I love vegas for the photography options. this is proof of that. lots to see from side to side, bright and well illuminated too. cheers

Hi Lars,
Venetian is probably my most favourite casino in Vegas. I like how well they have reconstructed the buildings, the attention to detail is stunning.
It feels very real.
Actually I have recently visited Orlando and in one of the Disney Parks they have some structures from Venice as well. At least Campanile and the Dodge Palace...
I don't think I have good photos though, actually I didn't see them yet.
