Photographer's Note

Albuquerque, New Mexico is the balloon capital of the world. Every weekend and many days balloons are in the sky. Where I live balloons come in low to land in a close- by field. This allows to get close up views as they are coming in.

Many times early in the morning the whoosh of the gas being fired overhead alerts one to their presence.It's time to get up to try to catch a shot or two. These boys are out at dawn, when the wind conditions are more favourable.

This is a beautiful tight-crop view of the balloon with brilliant colours against the blue sky, perfect sharpness and exposure. 95 hits and no smiley? Dont understand why? Keep posting, you have many good photos in your gallery

Joni,
Maybe this shot has a few technical limitations - (the strange "luminescence" (!) around the basket) - but, the composition, or compositional crop is pretty imressive, and really makes this shot interesting - far more interesting than "just another balloon shot". Well done.
