Photographer's Note
Prior to the arrival of westward bound pioneers, the entire central region of the United States was a vast sea of tall prairie grasses. Farming, towns, railroads, and highways obliterated all but a tiny portion of that crucial ecosystem. Depending upon the source of information, only one to four percent of the virgin tallgrass prairie remains, and efforts are underway to restore as much land as possible to its earlier state.
This mid-autumn image was taken in Russell County, Kansas, near Wilson Lake and the Post Rock Scenic Byway. I was laying on the ground to get the desired angle. A neutral density filter (Hoya ND X4) was used to enhance the sky color.

Hi Franklin,
Nice composition and idea. I like the simplicity of the scene, the appreciation of the small macro's in life.
Regards
Justin
