Gooseberry Falls, a photo from ミネソタ, Midwest

Photographer's Note

Gooseberry Falls State Park is located along the shore of Lake Superior on Route 61 north of Duluth. It is just north of a small town called Castle Danger (no kidding).

There are several different falls areas within the park and because the Gooseberry River is very shallow it is possible to walk into the riverbed to photograph from any angle you wish.

The yellowish-brownish color in the water is completely natural. It is caused by decaying leaves and branches on the forest floor along with a little added bit of iron from the type of rock in the area.

La cascade en longue exposition est du plus bel effet.J'aime aussi beaucoup le jaune dans l'eau qui est du plus bel effet. On dirait des cheveux.

Howdy Greg,

Excellent long exposure, transforming water into magical lines, curving and cascading over the rocks.

And the addition of natural decaying plants adds to your attractive lighting with color variations.

I like a lot of the pictures I have seen in your gallery. I chose this one because of the colors we see in the water. This is very neat since the water is generally white in those slow shutter speed pictures.
