Photographer's Note
California's Sierra Nevada mountain range is almost 400 miles long, running mainly south to north. It has 400 peaks over 12,000 feet above sea level. The west side of the range has a gradual slope and captures the prevailing Pacific storms, resulting in dense green forests. The east side has a severe slope and most of the Pacific moisture already dropped on the west side.
The Eastern Sierra Nevada also has less human population.
Highway 395 parallels the Eastern Sierra, making for one of the great scenic highways in the West. My favorite 'base camps', small towns with hotels and restaurants along the 395 corridor are: Lone Pine, Bishop, Mammoth Lakes, and June Lake.

Hello Ray, cool autumn image in a vertical frame shows us the different layers of color from the trees and the mountains. The last storm brought the Sierras 2-4 inches so the mountains are looking a little white this season.

Karen
p.s. there is a cowboy festival in Santa Clarita in April. It is at the Melody Ranch

Hello Ray,
This is a terrific view and a very well balanced composition with one third dominated by green and yellow and the rest basically a lot of tones of grey, brown and white.

Gert

hi Ray,
I haven't before seen such a capture of the seasons all captured in one scene, this is really cool! The trees in the foreground want me to break out the BBQ and relax in the sun, while beyond the sensation of cold blowing down from those peaks makes me shiver and run for cover. There is a very epic sensation of height as we rise through the scene that is really palpable. This is very cool, thanks for sharing a very fine capture.
All the best

Hello Ray,
You're capturing well this naure by a good angle and excellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see the steep creek with rocks/snow and trees dyed to the autumnal tints in foreground. It's good color contrast of foreground and background. And, a natural vitality is felt for the green tree having grown into a surface of a mountain also under severe environment.
Kind regards,
mikio

Hi Ray,
This is a very impressive view with the inaccessible mountain massif as backdrop to the very pleasant autumnal landscape in the foreground. Very beautiful!
Kind regards

Another spectacular shot of these impressive mountains. The Autumnal colours are breath-takingly beautiful and I like how you used the vertical frame to accentuate the depth and also to emphasise the contrasting colours of gold and grey. A stunning shot, well done.
Have a happy happy weekend
Lisa
