Photographer's Note

Hello all, sunset at the lake was spectacular. This part of the lake is called South Tufa. There are several beaches that are good for photography but I believe this beach is the most famous for photography because of the tufa structures. The colors were still soft in the sky at this moment. About 15 minutes later the sky lit up with reds and fuchsia colors. I walked over to a different side but there were so many other photographers there I couldn't set up my tripod. The other side has views of the eastern sierras looking toward Mammoth Mountain.
"Located in California's spectacular Eastern Sierra, Mono Lake is an oasis in the dry Great Basin and is a vital lake for migratory and nesting birds."
