Photographer's Note
I associate Alfred Hitchcock's North by Northwest, Cary Grant scrambling across the heads whenever I see the granite Founding Fathers.
The plan to carve the heads of presidents Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln, and T. Roosevelt in the huge cliff side of Mount Rushmoore, South Dakota, was presented to sculptor Gutzon Borgium in 1924. Between October 4, 1927 and October 31, 1941, 400 workers sculpted the colossal 18 meter high carvings.

Hello Ray,
Seeing this man-made work of art is always impressive. I also think of "North by Northwest" whenever a photo of it pops up. Nice POV, including the walkway leading up to the mountain. The woman in the foreground seems to be smiling at you. :-)

Bonjour ray
Une belle photo qui ressort bien dans la galerie. Un beau cadrage vertical tout en hauteur avec ces anciens pr駸idents sculpt駸 dans le roc. Une belle animation souriante sur le pont.

Hello Ray,
North by Northwest is a very captivating movie and I always enjoy it to see it again. Me too, I associate this monument with that movie.
But my first association many many years ago was with the album of Deep Purple :)
I've never seen a picture of this path with the columns and flags.
Best regards, Paul

Hello Ray,
I love Hitchcock's film too -its known in Greece with the title In the Shadow of the Four Giants:) I like very much the perspective you chose for this picture, including the pathway, the flags and the people that make the scene more vivid. You achieved superb clarity and vibrant, contrasting colours. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great day,
Ourania

Hi Ray, Woow, the giant presidents heads. They are impressive and very famous. It is one of the icons of USA that I haven't seen. I must see North by Northwest in YouTube. Excellent composition with these flags.

Hello Ray, a wonderful view of the Presidents carved in Mount Rushmore. I have not seen the grand terrace entrance before and didn't realize it was so spectacular. The vertical format is perfect for this scene.
What a great road trip you had from your other photos I have seen.
Have a great day,
looking forward to seeing more of your photos,
Karen
