Photographer's Note

Crystal Lake, in Eaton, New Hampshire, is a local photographer favorite, particularly in the fall. The light wasn't the greatest, but I loved the colors in this shot. Not a lot of reds, but lots of nice yellows. And that church! Hard to beat.

Wonderfully saturated colours. Although the photo is about the mirror image, from a personal preference I wouldn't have the dividing line quite so close to midway in the image. I'd rather cut the 'mirror' about midway between the tip of the spire and the current bottom of the image, to include more of the woodland above.

Hi Clark,
That is one cool reflection, its like a work by Monet but with much richer colors. The little church is a great addition to this scene with the vast selection of autumn colors.

If I could offer one suggestion, I would crop this slightly, removing the right side of the image from the red bush in the centre, and place the window of the church steeple on the upper left ninth. It seems to make the reds much more prominent and they frame the scene that way. Just a thought!

Hello Clark, What marvelous colours in autumn. Bright red, yellow, green... simply gorgeous and enhanced with the reflections in calm waters of the lake. MAgnificent picture.

Wonderful autumnal colours multiplied by the reflection. I don't think you need better light for this kind of image, you kept the probably not-so-interesting sky out of the frame.
The beautiful little church adds interest, context and a point of focus.
