Photographer's Note
Just five weeks ago we were on a cruise from Tokyo to San Diego, California, with a two-day stopover in Hawaii. It was in Honolulu, that we signed on to a parasailing adventure.
Parasailing employs a specially designed canopy reminiscent of a parachute that is towed behind a power boat. It gradually ascends to 150 m (500 ft), 230 m (700 ft), or 300 m (1000 feet) as a cable is rolled out from the boat. I shot the photo riding in the boat and watching the young lady being lowered back into the boat. She had paid $70 for the 700 ft ascent, almost as high as a 70-story building. Two young men paid $100 each and ascended in tandem to 1000 ft or to the height of a 100-story building.
Postscript. A number of individuals asked me whether I went up in a parasail. Unhappily, I did not have the nerve but sponsored my granddaughter's ascent to 700 ft. I agree with Gert, I too would have paid 50 cents for myself.

Hi Bulent
I like the silhouetted para-sailor and the multiple colors of the para-sail. Good sharpness and a fine upward pov. The strong backlight has been well managed. Tfs!

Hello Bulent,
The backlight was superbly employed and the effect is awesome.
A paratrooper is always an intriguing sight for photographers - and here that scene had been intensified. Wonderful outcome.

Bonsoir, cher ami Bulent,
Amiti駸.

Hello Blent,
So it's 1 dollar for 10 feet, or one story. How high did your wallet allow you to go? ;-)
This kind of photo probably works just as well from below as from above. The sail is colourful and the person hanging below it, as a silhouette, makes it look quite dramatic. I think I might have offered them 50 cents.
Best regards,
Gert

Hi Bulent
so you didn't go up? haha
I probably wouldn't have gone up either, i've seen too many videos where these things go wrong!
its much safer to stay in the boat and take photographs :)
I guess this is another sign that i'm getting older!
The Canopy has some color to it which works well for your photo, and thankfully its covering up the sun behind it. fun shot, fun memory too. A 2 day stop over in Honolulu sounds rough! haha
cheers

Merhaba Bulent. So can I assume that you too ascend to 1000 ft ? very effective shot against our star. Not blinding bright, the image allows us to admire the young lady and all the paraphernalia. Best wishes. Klaudio.

Great Pov with the well handled strong backlight, nice how the sail gives us that splash of colour.

Hello Bulent,
So, did you ascend to a great height?
I really like this!
It is a very 'different' parachute photograph because you were so close to the participant and the backlighting creates an amazing effect on the parachute, whilst the figure becomes a silhouette.
The line to the boat is so well positioned in your composition.
Have a good day,
Bev :-)

Hello Bulent,
I like how the back light shines through the sail, and creates a silhouette of the person in the air. I would also enjoying photographing the people in the air instead of going up there myself. I like heights, but in a more stable environment. :-)

Hello Bulent, the young woman is silhouetted perfectly against the blue sky, and the sun is masked by the canopy, still allowing us to see the colours of the fabric.
The dark clouds frame the subject nicely.
Interesting note, as always, thank you.
You did not say whether you had parasailed? And if so,to what height?
Regards Jean.

Hi Bulent
Enviable light & shade here -- a challenging shot into light with great focus on this canopy and the silhouetted fig. Wonderful detail and tones, lovely how the beautiful colours catch the light that is a thought worth pondering. You have created a very clever image here. Excellent stuff!
Best wishes

Dear Bulent
A great Point of View and a wonderful effect you achieved with the light through the parachute. Excellent colours and treatment of the sun light. Looking straight up at the sky makes me dizzy in this photo. Such a good feeling.
Hugs and happy weekend
