Denali, a photo from アラスカ, West

Photographer's Note

Everybody who heads north to Denali NP hopes for a good view of the famous Denali (previously known as Mt McKinley), the highest mountain in N America. We were lucky a couple of times but not from within the national park. After a few glimpses from the highway we scored this view from near Talkeetna.
Clouds were rising and the mountain soon disappeared but here the clouds separated the Denali from a lower but rugged ridge line emphasizing the height of Denali.
Taken on maximum zoom (300).

Il existe des moments offerts par la nature qu'il faut saisir tant la beaut� d駱asse l'entendement.
Ici, le spectacle est magnifique et ce mont blanc qui semble 駑erger des nuages est 騁onnant.

Hello Ian!

Hadn't it been for the upper third of your image, it might have been a scene from the European Alps, perhaps taken in the Dolomiti/Southern Tyrol.
But then a giant pops out, whom until now I only knew as Mount McKinley, much higher than the summits Europe can muster.

hello Ian ,at first I looked at the white peak...then I saw the grey mountains below, then I thought the white peak were clouds...then I realized it is Denali peak...I guess it was your intention..so best regards

Hi Ian,
I am not surprised that having photos like this one, you let Hawaii to wait.
This is spectacular with the multiple layers of composition.
What works incredibly impressive is that in one of the bottom layers we seem to have high mountains already and further above the clouds there is even higher mountain appearing.
This is a great spectacle for the eyes.

Hello Ian,

This is a cracker of a shot!
The horizontal layers of differing colours and textures, create an excellent sense of depth, whilst the layer of clouds emphasises the b/g height.

Quel beau paysage. On pourrait presque se croire dans les Alpes. Cette montagne enneig馥 domine vraiment les autres m麥e si elles aussi sont impressionnantes.

Hi Ian,

That's quite a majestic snow capped mountain! Good depth and layering with the fg shribs, midground 'foothills' (they look to be about 3,000 metres), the layer of cloud and Denali itself towering over all at 6,190 m. Tfs!

Yes, I heard over and over that we were very fortunate to get a clear glimpse of Denali since it is usually under cloud cover. You, too, were fortunate to get this interesting view. 👍🏻👍🏻
