Photographer's Note

Two weeks ago Phoenix experienced its first rainfall in 110 days. Heading upstream from the Canyon Lake Marina, Boulder Creek was almost entirely dry. Only a few pockets of water remained, and most of those were in the oddest places, like a depression in a boulder while what should have been a deep pool in the creek next to the boulder was dry.

This photo looks toward Battleship Mountain (upstream).
