"Fat Albert" Hercules, a photo from フロリダ, South

Photographer's Note

Nickname "Fat Albert", but this Lockheed C130 Hercules has a majestic sight from such a close range.

This is the auxiliary maintenance plane of the Blue Angels team, parked on the ramp at Vero beach airport where the Airshow took place.

It has four propellers engines, a wider wings span, but I had to crop all sides to avoid obstacles.

Hello Ike,
It's an impressive plane and the fuselage is nicely painted. By cropping the tips of the wings you created a tight composition with good symmetry. I flew Hercules planes a couple of times with the international force in Afghanistan. They are very noisy!

Hi Ike,
Yes, sometimes the obstacles can be annoying. But the effect is actually nice, the closer view emphasized the huge diameter of the main cabin. Nice face to face capture and pleasant colors,

That is quite an impressive aircraft indeed, I can understand its nickname. The deep blue colours and the bright yellow nose are really eye-catching, especially against the light blue sky.

The yellow nosecone and rear tail fin add a vibrant warm cold colour contrast against the blue sky. Good sharpness and framing. Tfs!

Ha! Ha! Ike, I can see why it was described as 'fat'! It does look like a rather chunky plane!

Impressive front view of this famous aircraft. Colourful paint scheme is beautiful. And that flag is a very nice extra detail. I have seen a TV document of the "Fat Albert".

the Hurcules! I have flown on this plan a few times, as my father is a Military man, he can take his family on the Hercules for $1 each! True story. that was back in the 90's, its probably not allowed any more - the world is a different place now! lovely shot, its cool to see the fat plane from this pov. cool to actually see a good plane photo where the plane is on the ground. cheers
