Photographer's Note
In my previous photo, I was outside the new skyscraper called One Vanderbilt. It sits directly next to Grand Central Terminal. For this view, I stepped just inside the very tall lobby to look out at the terminal. Most of the lobby is off-limits to guests, but there is a small section that connects to Grand Central, and also to the observatory above.
The large, arched windows on the fa軋de of the terminal are iconic. There are three windows each on the east, west, and north sides and they are about 60 feet (18 meters) high. The design was inspired by the Palais Garnier in Paris, and the windows also hold a secret: there are catwalks made of rock crystal running across the inside of the east and west windows. Every once in a while, if you look closely, you can see a tiny figure crossing one of the levels. Only certain employees of Grand Central Terminal have access to the catwalks, though.
The small plaza in between the two landmark buildings was filled with people, and another iconic skyscraper was peeking out at the top of the frame. I知 sure many of you can guess which building it is. :-)

Ciao Brenda,I am not very expert in your city, I could tell you that the building that appears is the Empire State, but if I am wrong I apologize ... ahahha .. great capture very original as always, the beauty of your photos is that they look and concern while I read the explanation in search of the details you describe, very good as always !! Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

Hello Brenda, Of course, I recognize what the iconic building is behind the Grand Central (and it is not ESB). Excellent view through the big windows. I liked Grand Central very much. How great that Jackie saved it! Nice colors. Lovely view of the normal life.
have a nice day

Hi Brenda
A building in NY that I remember very well from our arrival there. The window neatly frames your photo.

Hello Brenda,
I suppose it's the Chrysler Building seen above the roof. It's a beautiful building but in this picture it can't compete with the view outside the windows. We actually get three pictures in one, thanks to the window frames. People have placed themselves very neatly, with most of the group sitting under the tree in the central picture, people walking to the left in the left view and a woman going to the right in the right view. It's almost like they're acting on your order.
Best regards,
Gert

Hello Brenda,
A great photo shot through the large windows, which offer a great view of Grand Central Terminal with also a nice impression of summer life in the foreground and underneath the green tree. The tip of Chrysler Building is a wonderful detail as well.

Hello Brenda,
I remember the Chrysler Building is very close to Grand Central Terminal.
Its top with the spire is also unique.
However, few people on the street pay attention to the architecture.
Perhaps they have all been there so many times or the distraction on their smartphone was too great.
Best regards, Paul

Hello Brenda,
What a lovely view from inside One Vanderbilt! I did not know about the secret catwalks of Grand Central Terminal, TFS.

Hi Brenda,
I was confused until I read your note. I somehow assumed that you are outside and that it is a photo of the reflection but the photographer was missing so it was impossible.
Very nice effect and lovely street scene as well. We can see an original view of the Grand Central Terminal and a bit of the Chrysler Building as well.
Great light and final effect!
