Photographer's Note
These are typical fences found in the mountains near my home. I suppose they are so common because the wood used to build them is scattered all over the ground in the many forests: Lodgepole Pine. These same logs are used to make teepee poles.
I remember as a boy of 15 making many of these fences for the U.S. Forest service.
The fences change here to make it easier for snowmobiles to travel across. They simply lay down part of the fence when the snow comes.
Snowmobiling is hugely popular here. I find the machines a bit smelly and noisy, but even I have indulged when invited by friends or family.

Simplicity at its best. The fence reminds me of stick figures who lost their heads and little by little their limbs are falling too.
I love the curve to the right corner.
Very beautiful and classy too.

I really enjoy this one, David. Almost a piece of abstract art you made from the fence, and I like how it curves through the frame and precisely meets the upper right corner. Of course the alternation between the upright and the "laid-down" portion of the fence adds further interest. Very good.

Wonderful & graphically very strong image David!
I think it's an excellent composition - Less is More - and perfect adjustement of contrasts.
* I like the accentuated contrast, it reminded me of a lovely photo of CoolDan, here, and my own WS on it...

An outstanding minimalist composition, David. There's no texture visible in the snow, which is fine artistically, but I'm curious if you eliminated it in PP.
Somehow I have no snow pictures taken near my home...

I knew immediately that it's yours, David. What a fantastic composition with a brilliant hard contrast PP. THe curve is very elegant and artistic, this is one for my favorites.

Hello David! I echo everything Norbert said. This is a great idea to take this shot and then a most successful execution of that idea. I suppose this shot begs to be b/w doesn't it? This looks more like a painting than a pic. Keep up the great work David!!

Hi David,
A well presented photo. You do good use of certain elements in your photos, that make them impressive and artistic, like the fences here. I find this technique useful in paying close attention and remembering the "shape of things"
good work David!

I've always liked simple overexposed shots that leave a white background. This is no exception, a great graphic image David. Are you familiar with Harry Callahan's work using this technique? Man that guy is huge inspiration to me. Cheers man!

Hi David
An interesting study in abstraction, with superb graphism, accentuated by the snow. I like the diagonal composition. Well done!

Great composition David. Right in your negative space stile. The simplicity together with the details and dynamic line create a very appealing image.

Simple yet very interesting. It looks like the domino effect thing with the fences farther being laid down.

Great abstract shot, I'm a big fan of this one. I also like the way that the fence seems to fade away.

Hi David,
I wasn't sure what this was. It's a nice subject, expecially with the change in fence pattern. I would have liked to see the snow (its texture) and more of a close-up on one or two fences. But that would have been a different picture. On the other hand, there is snow on the fences to the right...
Nice composition.
