Photographer's Note
Shenandoah National Park. It was a very cold, windy and clear day. Spring is weeks away and will add a little green to the mountains. Standing on the Blue Ridge mountains looking west.

I like your compo. It lacks sharpening and brightness a little, but good compo.

I love it. The parallel lines of ridges are amazing. It gives a feeling of the green mountains fading into the blue sky. It almost looks like a set of waves coming in. The bottom with the river and fields is interesting foreground but clashes a little bit with the rest of the picture. If you crop the bottom inch or so, you would be left with a beautiful abstract photo.

Hi Ross. Aren't these the mountains John Denver sings about? I've got a few suggestions. First off it痴 a bit blue and you might want to try and back that off in post processing. My personal preference for this situation would be to go with a wider angle and to try and find a strong foreground. But your exposure settings are just fine. Good shot Mr. Ross.

The graduation in colour through the layers of hills has been well seen and well captured. I wondered whether the image would be improved by the removal of the fields and river in the foreground. I tried it and for me it doesn't work. The foreground helps to provide both a sense of scale and a focal point.
Nice work.
