Photographer's Note
We had just arrived in Boston and decided to find a place to park and enjoy the rest of the afternoon at Quincy Market. The atmosphere was very nice as street performances were held in each corner of the square. The place was filed with shoppers, parents with their kids, people eating outside, young enjoying their spring break... This cute little girl caugth my attention in the middle of everything, as she seemed absorbed in her dreams despite all the activity around her!
I used PS to blur more around her and highlight a litle her face. Once the day was quite cloudy the light was not very good.
Thanks for your comments.

Well focussed subject. The blur has made it surreal.
Wonderful capture Congtrats TFS

Hello Flavia,
Like everybody I also appreciate the fact that the little angel ls quite sharp on the pictyre while others or a bit blurred. But I also appreciate that the frame is full of other faces with expressions and that nothing else spoils it. Izzet

She does seem to be lost in her own world and the surrounding blur has emphasised this well.
I might have considered a crop on the left, just behind the grandma to eliminate the black arm(?), but on the whole, good work.

interesting idea to blur out the people. the effect, however, can be seen clearly around the little girl.

Ol Flavia,
Gosto muito da manera en que conseguiste isolar o sujeto na imagem, tanto en t駻minos de foco como de luz.
Un timo final de semana para voc!

Dunno bout the idea of blurring out but somehow the dreaminess of the girl still stands out! I wud have liked the dreamy face to be more prominent! I've tried a WS and posted. Hope u like it!!

Flavia,
This is really an interesting photo. At first it seems too busy but then the sharp focus brings the viewers eye directly to your subject. A very nice shot.

Yes, the blurring has the desired effect. It puts the attention on the girl, while still have the awareness of a crowd around her. Also it enhances the feeling of inertia. (I hope that's correct English)

Nice idea dear great PS work what impressed me lot is systematic blurring most of people do blind blurring in PS by just selecting their subject and then applying blur to rest of picture but you did marvelously by giving different amount of blur according to distance from your subject.

I think the blurring works well artistically, Flavia, and while it's detectible to us photographers who know that such selective focus is impossible, the rest of the world might never suspect the manipulation. But what's important is that it successfully puts the emphasis on the girl. One small suggestion--you might want to crop off some of the dark area at the left. Regards, Ken.

Bonjour Flavia

Flavia, my friend.
You have the eye of capturing the "essential" needs in a photo, such as this interesting shot. While the adults mind about their world, this little girl was having the dream, a dream of all children dreams of.
And you did a good job by blurring the surrounding to make the attention to this little girl.
Cheers and good day, Flavia.
