Photographer's Note
the sun playing peekaboo with me near quabbin reservoir old observatory last sunday.
i was not sure whether to leave the patch of the blue sky in the right corner of the composition, but decided it was quite in the spirit of the patchwork of fall color variety. so, it stayed.
as always, your comments and suggestions are appreciated. thanks for stopping by.

p.s. the trees actually are growing at weird angles in this spot, but the wide angle of my lense exaggerates the pattern.
p.p.s. i posted a workshop foto with a different cut of the same picture and would love to hear your thoughts as to which version you prefer.

love the long shadows, they seem like a strings attached to the sun and drawing everything in the scene towards it. beautiful luminous light and colours too, but compositionally I prefer your WS. still, great shot.
take care,
Kristine

Hey Kristaps,
Both images are different, above is a mid-point perspective that creates a symmetry in the landscape, the workshop has a more dynamic feel, the diagonal shadows and perspective shows a more radical view leading us 'to go follow the light'.
Both shots are very good showing a diffrent viewpoint with a wide-angle lens. Showing both the foreground, the shadow and textures of the surrounding. The depth of field is amazing on both images. The worshop shows interesting distortion of the base towards the left frame yet very creative looking as the one above. You can post either...well done!
All the best!

very apt way of treating the sun and still getting it on screen.
the shadows are the making of this shot and is well composed with the fanning out from the centre
cheers

I see you are planning a nice trip to ecuador, for sure this is a place to visit, be ready to click your cam there :)
I love this one too, the use of wide angle is really appropriate there and what make this shot good to me :)

Bonjour Kristaps,
lumi鑽es rasantes , contre jour, un d馭i que tu as bien relev.
Magnifique palette de couleurs qui vont des plus chaudes aux plus froides.
Une maitrise totale des lumi鑽es et de la mise au point.
Regards.
Daniel.

Hi Kristaps,
another great one, I like the way you took this long shadows staying in the backlight.
Excellent!
