Photographer's Note
Aptly titled, wouldn't you say?
This navy blue, Navy Pier.
More about it here.
As you've been told . . .

more than aptly titled :) I wonder what came first - title or the Pier.
love the deep ink blue, it is as royal as colours get, and the golden lights add the feeling of luxury, I like it a lot.
stay warm,

Excellent deep blue here. You really used the light left after dusk to take this picture, when the silhouettes of the buildings are still visible but the lights of the city are already on. The picture seems really cold; it just needs a little bid of ice to be perfect.

Hi Hugh,
excellent POV that you chose for this shot! The blue palette of colors looks very adequate for this shot, and the time when you took it provide very interesting lighting conditions. I like the sharpness and straight lines of this photo, and certainly the idea to use this altitude :)

Anton

Hi Hugh,
When I opened this image I did not expect such a magic scene. What a beauty! The golden big wheel sprouting in the middle of the dark blue space is really fantastic. But what I love the most is the sea... the water touching smoothly the sand, leaving delicate undulated traces... wow...yes, there will be cold!
Congratulations.

I wouldn't guess that you were into blue hour photography Hugh!
And with a tripod!
Gosh! You did it well!
I have no idea about the Chicago skyline and how it looks from God's POV, but especially with that Ferris Wheel, it looks very attractive. Congrats for this very photographic achievement!
Cheers,

Hi Hugh,
Another great view from above and again with superb detail on the lights and trails. But what i like best are the waves that are rolling in on the beach in a very quiet way...excellent exposure..!!!

Stunning colours Hugh. The views are certainly spectacular from that perch of yours! The detail is quite extraordinary.

Hi Hugh,
what an angel POV :)
Good blue tones and impressive how the big wheel seems so little.
Well done

Hi,
I love blue and this is a treat...so deep, a superb tone of it, so everywhere...with that effect of the long exposition...the waves, their texture is marvellous. As is the overall view, with the details of the Ferris wheel, the smoke. Just beautiful, great work, congratulations.!
Cheers
