Photographer's Note

Utah's remote west desert is home to a few hundred wild mustangs. They are truly wild and difficult to photograph like other large wild animals.

In this shot, the dominant stallion chases off a rival challenger just after a snowstorm. Fights between stallions are very serious and I have witnessed many open wounds from vicious bites and kicks.

Great shot of a seldom photographed wild animal. It can be pretty tricky photographing something moving towards you this fast while maintaining a shallow depth of field. I知 really loving the warm tones too. I usually only see this much beauty and drama in western paintings. Welcome back.
