Dreaming My Dreams, a photo from New South Wales, East

Photographer's Note

This was taken at Forresters Beach on the New South Wales Central Coast in the company of the lovely Kathryn (KWeir).

The light was just amazing and the sea was wild. If you can see the rocks to the left, I have a photo of Kathryn standing on one of them in order to get her shot. She's a very brave lady.

The soundtrack to this photo is also the photo's title, it's a song by Irish band The Cranberries here:

Hi Lisa,
Taken with a bit long exposure, the water has a silky texture, especially over the rocks.
Clouds over the horizon are beautifully golden lightened.

Hello Lisa,
The sea looks very wild. Only the sunlit clouds on the horizon evoke a calmer feeling.
The rocks just below the water surface seem to form a kind of curving path in the sea. Very curious and beautiful!

Hello Lisa,
title you chose for this beautiful picture is not only apt,but also meaningful.I think the most significant part of the image are these amazing and so beautifully illuminated cloud formations.They create the whole unique and dreamy mood of this scene.I like also the way you captured movement of the water in the FG(only 0.8sec shutter speed,but it was enough to create so nice effect).
Magnificent and very atmospheric composition!

The long exposure gives a nice texture to the sea. You have very nice beaches down under.My cousin just came back from a 2 months trip in Australia and New Zeland and can't stop talking about it.

Hi Lisa
another great shot to add to your gallery Lisa.
I know i've mentioned it to you before, but when we eventually do make it to Aussie Land, its THESE scene's and locations that Tosca will want to visit, we'll have to make that happen for her :)

I really like how the right side of the water is smooth like ice, and the left is slowly moving like silky blue-grey ketchup! :)

the low laying cloud coverage adds alot too, lets not forget about that! wonderful shot!

I know its 1130 pm your time in Sydney right now, but its only 630 am here on Sunday the 21st of April...
its Tosca's B-day today :)

Amazing nature scene, the golden clouds contrasting with the blue sea. The long exposure softens the waves crashing on the rocks. Katryn has disappeared, mayday, mayday!!!!

Stunning seascape, and the colours and clouds add so much. I love these long exposures on the water, it almost looks as if it is two rivers crashing into each other. Beautiful that the moon managed to sneak into the shot too!

Hi Lisa,
I think it's those clouds that make this different from your many seaside views. Lots of small details, Warm light on clouds and cool blues on water. That is beautiful, small aperture and grad filter are in good use on this one.

Hello Lisa,

A nice dreamlike mood with soft light and watercolors.
Efficient composition with the stones starting from foreground and drawing a curved diagonale line pushing the look in depth.
I also like the color contrast between blue and orange.
I feel the shot could have supported a bit more sharpness but perhaps it is coming from the almost 1s exposure time?

A well composed shot withe the horizon line placed well away from the centre. I like the motion blurres waves and the softness, yet the image is sharp. Good warm cold colour contrasts between the orange tinted clouds and blue sea and sky. The moon is a nice addition too. Have a nice week!

You know I love long exposure shots as this very much. Here the water looks almost like smoke and the colors of the water, rocks and sky are simply gorgeous. And as usual your soundtrack is spot on again for this one. Truly a lovely picture indeed.

non potevi scegliere titolo migliore per questo tuo masterpiece, tecnicamente perfetto e con delle tonalit� stupende...i toni freddi si mixano perfettamente con i toni caldi e l'effetto movimento � davvero notevole con le rocce che fungono da ottimo punto focale...TANTA ROBA!!!

beautiful seascape. Three elements: water, earth and air seem to be in a good balance here. The rocks you have in the foreground are great but they seem kind of unreliable and I am not sure if I would enjoy getting wet while trying to set up my tripod in there :)
Lovely sky too with very attractive clouds.

my last note before heading off to sleep, so the title drew me in & i'm glad it did.
this is a fantasy shot, an illustration for a dream world. photographs like this could inspire an entire film to be built around them.
