Softly, softly...the light of day..., a photo from New South Wales, East

Photographer's Note

Forresters Beach is a coastal suburb of the Central Coast region of New South Wales, Australia between Terrigal and Bateau Bay. It is the most northerly suburb of the City of Gosford local government area. Forresters Beach is well known for its reef breaks to surfers. The name "Forresters Beach" comes from Robert Forrester who purchased 50 acres (200,000 m2) of land in 1861.
There is a small car park in the mid point of the beach, if you turn right once you go across the dunes then walk about 5 minutes you arrive at a rocky headland. This is a wonderful place to play with dawn photography.
This boulder is sitting on a rocky shelf and the still water around at this part of the tide cycle reflects the early morning light. There was a gentle flow of water from the bottom right hand corner towards the boulder and so you can see linear collections of sand being swept across the shelf.
This utilised two ND grad filters to balance the light sky and the dark foreground.

Howdy Kathryn,

Serene purple-blue hued surface anchored by the rock, which I would love to sit on and feel the scene. The distant massive land blends with the horizon's cloud layer, also looking like mountains.

Hi Kathryn,
This could be a perfect cover for an album of mellow relaxing music, the reflections in the sand make it look like glass, and the soft purple tones and so beautiful. As are the golden rays from the sun illuminating those clouds on the horizon. This is a soft and very relaxing image. Aaaahhhhh.... :)
