Photographer's Note
One of the most amazing finds on my weekend to Rainbow Beach was Carlo Sand Blow.
Named by Captain Cook after one of his deck crew named Carlo. The unique 杜oonscape sand mass covers over 15 hectares and overlooks the towering coloured sands. There is a walking track which passes through woodlands that leads to this expansive natural sand blow.
It痴 an excellent spot to watch the sunrise or sunset. The 360 degree views are spectacular, to the East has magnificent views of the ocean. To the S.E. is Double Island Point and the cliffs of coloured sand. Fraser Island and Inskip Point are to the North, while Tin Can Bay and the Great Sandy Straits lie to the West.
If you visit Rainbow Beach this location is a must.
I went back to get a picture of the sunset that night and there was a wedding taking place right in the middle of the sand blow, what a spectacular place to get married. The groom was from America and the bride a local. They didn't have a photographer and when they saw my nice camera they asked if I could take some pictures for them. Well I got some nice shots of the wedding party but totally missed the opportunity to get a nice sunset shot... gee I guess I will have to go back :-)

Hi Jude,
So you've taken up wedding photography now too, is there no end to your talents.
I like this view through the dunes onto the headland in the distance.
Nice work.

Hi Jude,
I'm not a beach person, you know that by now ;-)
But taking pictures from it when light is good, when patterns on the sand look nice and you can make good compositions than i'm on your hand...just like in this one. The v-shape opening in the middle looks very good, but even more good is that great blue sky, how beautiful in contrast with the sandy beach....i also would take a picture of this.
Well done...another very good exposure.
Regards,
Henk

Hi Jude,
The colour of the sand is so sweet. Your composition is very well balanced and I like a lot this incredible depth. The atmosphere is just great on this picture ( lovely, sunny day and relaxing mood;) Well done!
Best regards,

Hi Jude,
You have a fine collection of sunrises.
Here the early (I presume) light brings out the relief of the sand very well. The view over the bay to the slim row of dunes is very good.
Composition and light are excellent.

Hello Jude
Quite a unique location which I must visit one day. TE is not just about learning about places far away but also about learning about places in our own backyard. I am wondering where the land is which is in the distance? A simple capture but very striking - tfs, Marlene

Hi Jude. I am sure Carlo would have been pleased to have had such a place bear his name. Superb colour of the sea and an impressive POV.You have created a great sense of depth. Regards. Klaudio.

Hello Jude,
You have framed the sea in the hollow of the sand dunes. It creates a lovely inverted rainbow, appropriate for the site.
Warm regards,
Bulent
