Photographer's Note

This is one of the ruins of Port Arthur in Tasmania - Church for those that guarded the site and their families. A site that was used to house convicts as they were brought to Australia from Britain.

Many of the convicts were sent here as young as 10 years old for stealing a load of bread. Many of these young men had to endure crude punishment and torture.

People believe this site is haunted by the souls of these convicts and the men who guarded them - it is believed their voices can be heard at night - some even claim to have seen these ghosts.

I fortunately didn't encounter any such ghosts but it certainly gave me goose bumps just walking through this place.

I hope this picture helps in giving you an idea of that feeling
