Photographer's Note
Victoria Park was established as a sporting ground in 1879 and was the home ground for Collingwood Football Club for 107 years until 2005.
There was some talk of demolishing the stands and using the ground for other purposes, however these have were stalled due to heritage planning laws. Instead A$7.2m was spent by the council and others refurbishing the ground.
In these days of isolation, a few people walk their dogs, kick a footy around or sit in the stalls remembering.

Hello Stephen
I always seem to be drawn to monochrome images, and this one's a beaut. Losing the colour makes the viewer concentrate on the essentials: in this case the repeated pattern of numbers receding into the background. And of course the lone figure, perfectly placed, with the numbers seeming to point to him, and reminding us of the loneliness being experienced by so many at the moment. Nice one.

Hello Steve,
You had a good idea for this original and graphically interesting composition. I like the curving lines of white figures on the dark benches and the lone man sitting near the top. There was no need for people walking their dogs here.
Best regard,
Gert

Hi Steve
Perfect for B&W and I love the way the seat numbers curve away. Been pretty bleak here too - the previous 3 days didn't mak it to 10!
Cheers

Hello Stephen,
It feels like a bleak picture that you paint in your notes and your photograph shows the effects clearly; empty seats, where eager crowds would have brought colour and vitality.
It's a very strong, visual image, with curves and lines and people represented as numbers.
Keep safe,
Bev :-)

Hello Steve, Very attractive composition with these white numbers on black on the curvy lines. Good including the lonely spectator.
Stay safe

Hi Stephen
great shot, the curve of the #'s works so well as they move up and across the frame. fine conversion to black and white, but its the overall compo and the sense of movement that makes it so effective. Nice work. cheers
