Photographer's Note

Bluff Hut in Victoria's High Country is one of many such refuge huts built across the high alpine areas of Victoria and New South Wales originally to serve as shelter for the mountain cattlemen who drive their herds to the high plains in the summer and bring them back down in winter. Today these huts are popular with 4 wheel drive groups, bushwalkers, artists and in winter provide shelter for cross country skiers.

Edit. 8/5/2007. This mountai hut was lost to the 06-07 bushfires. Hopefully it will be rebuilt. All that's left are pics like this.
