Photographer's Note
Probably the best known feature on Kangaroo Island is an area of strange wind created stone formations.- sculptured by nature. The place is high, beside the Southern Ocean and very exposed. the stone is very hard granite so it has been a long time being sculptured.
Here is one of them. The shape is almost like and elephants face, eye and trunk. other suggestions? The Remarkables are all the more noticeable for the red lichens that covers parts of the formations.
Best in the large view.

Hello Ian, I have seen similar rock formations in Iran, on the Hormuz island. Here I can also see the elephant - the eye and a small ear. There red lichens are very nice. Superb composition in great colours and sharpness.

Hi Ian.
I can sense the high and the hardness of the stone even by watching this image. It must be a very interesting feeling standing right there. The elephant shape carved in the hard rock by nature looks very impressive. TFS!!!

Hello Ian,
The elephant is good enough for me. I have no better suggestions. The shapes of these sculptures are amazing and the red lichens definitely contribute to the attractive look of these formations.

Gert

Hello Ian,
Nature proving here artistry on the rocks!
The image can change from an elephant to a toothless monster!
Your photograph is pin sharp, showing the textural details as almost palpable.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Bonjour Ian,
Il ne suffit pas d誕voir beaucoup d'imagination pour voir bien des choses dans ces rochers en bord de mer. Superbe composition avec de bien jolies textures.

Hello Ian, it is amazing what the wind can create, and this is a remarkable piece of natural sculpture.
The close view works really well, so we can see the red lichen, and the blue sea makes a lovely background.
Thanks for sharing, regards Jean.
