Photographer's Note
I did post another photo from this spot a few years ago but this one gives a closer view of the seals and is much higher resolution. The huge Admirals Arch is at Cape du Couedic on the SW corner of Kangaroo island.
For French TE members you'll be interested to know that Cape du Couedic was named after a French naval officer, Charles Louis du Couedic in 1803.
The arch is a favourite with fur seals. How many can you spot? You'll need the larte view. By my count of clearly visible seals there are at least 6 on the rocks on the left and another 6 on the rocks to the right.
At the bottom is one leaving the water and there are at least 2 in the water. There are a couple of other lumps in the water that may also be seals.
Best in the large view.

Hello Ian, I see quite clearly three seals in the water, two on the right side on the rocks but I can't spot them on the left side. Charming composition. I saw the very large groups on the islands of Peru.
Have a nice Sunday

Hello Ian,
This is like one of those puzzles that you get in newspapers or magazine, "spot the presents hidden in the room'! I can see the seals in the water and coming out of the water, and a couple on the right but, I'm afraid, even in large format, the others delude me! But, I've had an enjoyable few minutes searching!
However, the dark archway creates an unusual, exciting, natural frame, with fine details of the sea and the rocks, in strong contrast beyond.
Have a good day,
Bev :-)

Hello Ian,
This was a tricky photo. Without your assistance I would only have seen the two in the water. With some difficulty I could locate most of the others. But this is such an attractive photo even if we don't find the seals. The view of the rocks and waves is very well framed.

Gert

Hi Ian,it's very difficult the full count of seals, also using the large version, because they are very well camouflated with the same colors or rocks. The scenery and the perspective are beautiful,a wild and natural corner taken in a great way! Have a nice Sunday and thanks,Luciano

Hi Ian,
Rough edge on the top of the arch make quite special framing on this sea view. What a great hideout for all these seals. It was really worth opening the large view.

Hello Ian,
A beautiful photo of these amazing rock formations and I love the play of light and shadow here. The dark silhouettes are also well included in the foreground. Great work.

Hello Ian, I like the use of the arch to frame the view of the rocks and the sea. As it appears as a silhouette, our eyes are compelled to see past it.
Interesting rock formations, obviously worn smooth by the constant action of the sea.
Thanks for sharing, regards, Jean.

Hello Ian
I can see a couple of seals, one in the water inside the surf, which I was told on Rottnest Island, WA, that the sharks don't like to swim through surf, and another on the beach in the breaking small wave. The silhouetted cave makes a nice frame. Tfs!

Hi Ian,
I know I am supposed to count the seals...
I actually more attracted here to the original framing from above.
Great coastal view.
Excellent work,
M
