Photographer's Note
Casuarina Islets lie just off the south west corner of Kangaroo Island. They are also know as The Brothers. The next land beyond them? Antarctica.
They are a part of Flinders Chase NP and a protected area for the breeding of fur seals as well as birds including silver gulls, Pacific gulls and crested terns.
Best in the large view.

Hi Ian,
The depth of the blue color lets you know how truly cold the water is. Nice capture. TFS

Hello Ian,
This really looks like a desolate area, so it's no surprise that the next stop is Antarctica. The two flat islands are quite eye-catching, but even more so is the contrast between the dark blue water and the green and yellow plants in the foreground.
Regards,
Gert

Hello Ian
Reminds me a bit of Rabbit Island in the Black Sea off the coast of Amasra in Turkey. I hope you kept an eye out for tiger snakes. They love seabirds and their eggs and the empty burrows. Good depth & layering with superb colour and sharpness. Tfs!

Hi Ian
you mention Antarctica, well it must be a long way away because the climate there is totally opposite to this. fun shot with the islands repeating themselves like that, imagine if they kept getting smaller and smaller with dozens more of them :)
love the colors and just the overall visual. cheers

Hello Ian.
interesting, quite deserted place. I like your composition with the diminishing islets.
Thanks and regards,

Hello Ian, The Casuarina is a deciduous tree with a soft, wispy, pine-like appearance that can grow to 100 feet or more in height. It looks very similar to the conifer because of its small, round, cone-like fruits and its branchlets of scale-like leaves that look like pine needles. But these needles have segments like puzzle grass. But I do not see here any casuarinas. Lovely composition.
Kind regards MAlgo
