Photographer's Note
Almost the first thing to do for all Sydney visitors is to go to Circular Quay and have a look at the Opera House. I guess it's also an appropriate start for my Australia travelogue.
It's all done before. Showing the Sydney Opera House from all possible angles. And still everyone takes their own photos, many also push their own faces into the frame. But seeing it on this light, evening sunshine showing between clouds after a particularly cloudy day, I think it's worth uploading yet another version.
Light was also a major reason for the whole journey. Leaving very short and cloudy days of Finnish winter and heading for the summer of southern hemisphere.

Bonjour Kari
belle mise en valeur de ce c駘鐫re op駻a. La lumi鑽e permet de faire ressortir la toiture sans enlever les d騁ails. Bravo.

This is the perfect start for any Australia travelogue. The light was just perfect and the roof of the Opera House against the dark sky is marvellous. Well done.

Good morning, Kari! You have been to Australia, wow! I was wondering where you were :))) One of the many wonders in Australia ... the Opera House belongs to THESE things you have to see once in a life time, no question. Great the dark sky, it gives the full attention to this famous building. Very good indeed. Happy New Year by the way or have I said that before ;))) Barbara.

Most appropriate title: this consoling light makes the building stand out from the gloomy sky: a real vision.
Quite a good start for a travelogue, showing the icon of a city in its best light both materially and metaphorically.
Let's see what will come next...
Best greetings,
Donato

Hi Kari, I never get sick of seeing this icon and you've captured it well against the looming grey skies. I hope you enjoy our city and look forward to your future posts. Kind regards and happy shooting from Lisa in Sydney.

Hi Kari,
It's never boring to see the Opera House. You got very good center lighting on building and foreground. Beautiful colors and detail of people around the complex. And even cars there. Regards. Latiff.

You can't have a travelogue from Australia without your version of Sydney's iconic Opera House. :D
I always like these dark skies but with good light on the subject, so you were lucky to be able to bring something different from here.

Hi Kari,
I didn't know you've been to Down Under, hope you had a great trip and show some stunning materail around here. And although this place is photographed so many times, it's still a joy to see it standing tall and proud in the nice light with a much darker surrounding in the sky and water.
Take care,
Henk

Yes it is an icon of Australia, so it is hard to be original, but the light you captured here makes the shot definitely worth uploading! The building is stunning of course...:)

From Finland to Australia. What a long trip!!! :)
Great light here Kari. Got to tell you a secret: this is my favorite light! The sun rays filtered by the stormy blue always look amazing. It's so Australian, that stormy warmth. This building must be incredible. For an architectural lover like me it would be a joy to photograph it. I would waste my 8GB card on it... I wished you have caught more shadows on that roof to show more dimensions than what you are already showing. The photo is great, but I think that with some shadows on the roof it would be even better. I bet you have more to show from the same place. ;)

Hei Kari,
I was already wondering where you have been, and you were in Australia! This shot definitely deserves to be uploaded just because its amazing light, the opera house bathing under sun and the background dark clouds. A good start for your travellogue!
