Lotus and bridge, a photo from Victoria, East

Photographer's Note

Another photo from the Blue Lotus Water Gardens near Melbourne. I took lots of photos of the lotus flowers - I love their delicate pink colours and the translucency of the petals. This view looks over some banana leaves, past a lotus flower and a lotus seed pod to a lovely red bridge surrounded by big green lotus leaves.

What a beautiful scene. It's so lush and colorful. I like all the layers, starting with the leaves and flowers in the foreground, then the water and bridge, and then the hills in the background. Very nice!

The forested mountains in the distance give the impression that these gardens are overflowing in natural surroundings.
Beautiful light and attractive colours.
Very well composed and framed.
The red bridge is very striking in these green surroundings.

Hi Vince, good layered shot of the lotus gardens. I visited them with the other erstwhile Melbourne TE bods a couple of years ago, before our movements were restricted (sigh), and was interested to see Abyssinian banana plants there, like the one in your FG. You can tell by the red stem. The stems are ground to make a paste then cooked. The fruit is not edible. Cheers, S

Another place of interest in Melbourne that I must add to my list of spots to visit if we ever get to cross borders again. A well framed photo of the lotus and bridges making good use of the bananas, another plant you don't expect to see down your way.

Beautifully framed shot of this tropical garden. Leaves, flower, water and the bridge makes a lovely combination. And hilly background is nice too. Excellent depth of field from the flower all the way to the back.

You have set the scene beautifully, by using the leaves and the flowers so effectively in the f/g. They also frame the b/g and create a wonderful sense of depth to the bridge and gardens beyond.
It's a very pleasing scene!

A wonderful view of these garden with the lotus and the red bridge as the highlights in the composition. I like the many shades of green as well and the sunlight was very pleasant, too.

An amazingly tropical look and feel to this shot that looks more like Thailand than Victoria. The red Japanese style wooden bridge makes a great focal point. Good sharpness and colour. Tfs!

Hi Vincent,
what an exotic garden. I would never guess the destination. The banana leaves make wonderful foreground with the lotus flower further and the Chinese style bridge in the centre.
This is so green, and vegetationm so varied,.
