The beautiful old Strand Arcade was built in the years 1890 - 1892. It is now heritage listed which is a good thing because it is the only old arcade of this type surviving in Sydney. This was taken early afternoon on what should be a busy time but COVID meant everything was very quiet with not many at the caf in the foreground. The man in the yellow high-vis top, though, is doing his best as he appears in the photo 3 times.
The arcade is a well deserved favourite of Sydney-siders
A couple of other photos from around Sydney that afternoon in the WS. We went to a concert that evening and one photo looks from the concert hall down the lane that leads to it.
The other one is a bit of fun with 2 people dressed up advertising a fitness centre.
