Bartley's Hill Lookout, a photo from Queensland, East

Photographer's Note

The view from Bartley's Hill Lookout in Ascot overlooking Hamilton in the fg and Newstead and Teneriffe high-rise apartment towers at right, with their own views across the Brisbane River. The city is several km upstream at right. You can just see both of the cantilever support towers of the Story Bridge poking up above the horizon. The fg tree is jacaranda, which flowers here in October (Spring). Cropped from a vertical shot and enlarged.

Hello Chris,
It's an attractive view and a nicely structured photo: sky, large buildings, water and smaller buildings surrounded by trees and lawns. There's a grey dominance in the upper half and a lot of green below. It's nice and interesting and well exposed.

Hello Chris,
A moderrn city was built on the sides of the Brisbane river. Easily found the Bartley's Hill Lookout point on the map at -27.432, 153.052 , Apparently same spot where you took this beautiful picture.
On the virtual tour found out this POV is within a beautiful neighborhood, though a big antenna erected just 50m from the two benches at the point.
Anyway, I like to "discover" new places like i see here.

Hello Chris, Nice view of the area of small houses contrasts with the Business Area on the other side of the lake.

Hello Chris,
A really lovely view from this lookout, even on a cloudy day like this one. The composition is good and well-balanced and I like the mostly green foreground in front of the higher building further away.

Hello Chris,
A different type of building on each bank.
The other side of the river looks very urban while the foreground shows a quieter and greener suburb.

Hello Chris,

Pity it's the wrong time of the year for flowers on the jacaranda but the greenery is still useful for setting the f/g scene.
This looks like a very modern development, with a separation of private housing in the f/g and high rise business developments across the river.
Though the sky is grey, reflected in the river, the details are pin-sharp in this good exposure.

Hi Chris,
This is your third photo with a hill in the title. It looks like you visit all the hills around. They do offer great views of the town, I think they also would be great for blue hour photos. Interesting to see the residential area in the foreground and the high rise buildings across the bay,
