The Silver City Highway, named after one of the minerals mined at Broken Hill runs up the far west of NSW from the Victorian border up to the Queensland border, a distance of 650 km. We were just travelling about 120km north of broken Hill to our next stop, Fowlers Gap. More about it from tomorrow and I promise you that it will be very interesting).
As you can see the land is quite arid and dry but at least the road is good these days.
I've included a photo of what the road looked like in 1997 in the town of Milparinka farther north.
